Rollins & Etta
Caturday Cats of the Week
Few things are as heart warming as stories of our cats.
Each Caturday we feature a Cat Box Classics Caturday Cat of the Week. It's here cats (and their companions) tell their stories. How did they meet? What makes their relationship special? And, of course, what makes each cat unique? If you love stories about cats and our relationships with them, this is the place for you.

Here's Rollins & Etta
How did you meet?
I got my all black rescue kitty, Rollins, in 2018. I was hoping a little guy to take care of would give me some purpose and joy. I had not owned a cat myself in a while so was a bit nervous. When perusing cat rescue profiles, I found a picture of a silky black kitten, then named āChainsawā and I knew I found my guy. I got my sweet girl Etta a few years later in July of 2020, hoping to give super social and active Rollins some company. They are about the same age. Also a rescue, Etta is a former kitten mama, who came to me after her kittens were weaned and adopted and she was back in action after being spayed.
What Makes Rollins and Etta Special?
Rollins is a sleek gorgeous fellow, who I call "Rolly" and seems to go by the motto, āno trouble is too much troubleā. He is high energy, very social and very talkative. He also is a poser, always looking beautiful for pictures as if he isnāt in the middle of some mischief. Rollins also has a talent for putting all his paws in a pile when he sleeps, the inspiration for the coining of the term "paw pile". Etta and Rollins love to rough house together but she is as gentle as they come. She is a quiet, loving girl who never gets into trouble; a smoky silver grey foil to the constant rabble rousing Rollins. Etta doesnāt say much, unless there is an unexpected knock at the door threatening to disturb our bliss, which is the only time I have ever heard her tough guard cat growl. She is our protector. She has also never met a sunbeam not to her liking. She likes to give kisses.
