We know how much you love your cat because we feel the same about ours. Furry Masterpieces Cardboard Cat House is the result of that love and care for all cats. The materials, the design and the manufacturing were all chosen to enhance the health, well-being and enjoyment of all cats.

The Materials

First, we do not use any toxic or industrial inks to print the graphics. The Mona Lisa, American Gothic, The Scream and the others are all printed with cat safe-soy ink. Soy ink is a healthier choice for your cat and is a renewable substance that is better for the environment.

A good high-quality cat scratcher is also an important part of any cardboard cat house, also known as cat scratcher houses. We have produced an integrated cat scratcher that fits snugly in the Furry Masterpieces Cardboard Cat House. We’ve also chosen a design that utilizes only non-toxic glues in the manufacturing of those scratchers. Scratchers, as you know, take a beating. So, you want to make sure that yours is healthy for your cat.

We have also created a replacement scratcher. So, if your cat is particularly hard on the original scratcher that comes with your cat house, you can replace it with the scratcher we’ve designed to fit in your cat house after the cat house has already been assembled.

Finally, the corrugated cardboard itself is top quality and environmentally friendly. Furry Masterpieces Cardboard Cat House’s cube shape requires materials to be sturdy enough to support the weight of cats playing and sleeping and jumping on top. We’ve chosen a thick, sturdy corrugated cardboard that has been cat-tested and is ready for even the roughest play.

We have also chosen to use recycled materials. Sourcing recycled cardboard is more expensive than buying first-use corrugated cardboard. But we believe the health and well-being of your cat doesn’t need to come at the expense of the environment.

The Design

We considered a lot of different shapes when developing Furry Masterpieces Cat House. We looked at a lot of the existing cat houses on the market that had odd shapes, such as firetrucks or spaceships. But we found them to have limited use. We wanted to create a cardboard cat house that allows your cat to not only play, sleep and scratch, but also to bring toys inside and to simply spend time feeling safe and comfortable.

We found the cube shape offers the most opportunity for a multitude of uses. Smaller, more narrow cottage style cat houses are taller at the top of the pitched cottage roof, but they are long and narrow so there isn’t enough room for the cat to really move around and play. And the other odd cat house shapes also limited the movement and position of your cat once inside.

Play is also incredibly important to cats’ emotional well-being and physical health. So, we wanted to create a space large enough that your cat could play with you and other pets. The large entrance and the play holes on each side help facilitate that interaction.

The cube shape really allows them to groom, play, stretch, scratch and sleep. And the more uses your cat has for their cat house the more time they will spend using it, the more they will spread their scent inside and the more your cat will love it.

The Manufacturing

There are cheaper cat houses on the market that are made by large international corporations and chain outlets. We know that. And we’re okay with that. We don’t want to be the cheapest or to offer cat houses that are an afterthought for a larger company.

We wanted a manufacturing partner that would use only the best materials that are specifically designed for the health, safety and well-being of cats.

After an intensive search and dozens of samples we settled on a manufacturing partner that cares about cats as much as we do. All of their facilities are regularly inspected and meet all applicable international and U.S. standards.
